Jurgen Klopp provides positive injury update ahead of Liverpool vs. Fulham

Jurgen Klopp has welcomed Jordan Henderson back to full training ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Fulham, with a strong squad at his disposal at Anfield.

The Reds were back at Melwood on Thursday as they work to respond to their 2-0 humbling at the hands of Red Star in the Champions League.

Klopp oversaw a recovery session with the majority of his first-team squad present, though Joe Gomez was not among those pictured as concerns emerged over an Achilles injury.

Andy Robertson was seen training alone, while Daniel Sturridge was also not pictured, after being substituted at half-time at the Marakana.

However, speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning, Klopp was positive about the shape of his squad, confirming both Gomez and Henderson were available.

He did suggest he could discuss an arrangement with England manager Gareth Southgate for the upcoming clashes with the USA (November 15) and Croatia (November 18), though.

“It’s actually nothing to discuss in public, we see how we deal with that,” he told reporters.

“It’s different for the two boys, different things. If there’s something to talk about I’ll talk to Gareth about it.

“For the weekend they are all available.”

Naby Keita could return to the lineup after a spell out with a hamstring injury, while Nathaniel Clyne is an option for the bench if Robertson is ruled out.

Dejan Lovren, who missed out in midweek due to illness, also trained on Thursday and could be considered for a starting role.

It is likely Henderson makes his first appearance since the 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town, though as Klopp hailed his captain he highlighted a selection quandary ahead.

Along with Henderson and Keita, Gini Wijnaldum, Fabinho, James Milner and Adam Lallana are also fit and available, giving the manager plenty of options in the middle of the park.

“When Jordan is not available we always miss him,” he continued.

“I would love to say Hendo would have changed the whole game [at Red Star], but I’m not sure about it. It was strange, and not ‘us’.

“The game before that was absolutely OK. We only have to admit that Arsenal is a good football team.

“We were 1-0 up, we had big chances, we didn’t score, so it was 1-1. Nothing to do with players in or out.

“It’s good to have them back, probably for the first time that all midfield players—apart from Ox—are available.

“That’s another thing to do, making decisions. It’s all about fitness levels, form, shape, whatever. Then we will see.”
