We round up the latest Liverpool news and transfer rumours on Friday, with Jurgen Klopp conducting his pre-Fulham press conference.

News broke on Friday regarding Fenway Sports Group putting Liverpool up for sale, with the New York Post claiming they had been “privately entertaining” offers for the club.

The Reds’ owners have been quick to play down the rumours, however, releasing a statement via a Liverpool spokesman, saying:

“As loathed as we are to give a story of this nature a meaningful response, on behalf of the club’s ownership I can completely dismiss this unfounded speculation.

“To repeat once again, the club is not for sale, including any ‘quiet process’ or anything of that nature.”

That’s that cleared up then!

Mignolet Wanted by Nice

According to Belgian publication Het Belang van Limburg, Nice manager Patrick Vieira is interested in signing Simon Mignolet in January.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has managed just one appearance this season, in the League Cup defeat to Chelsea, and will not be usurping Alisson any time soon.

Mignolet has been candid about wanting a fresh challenge and regular football, following six seasons at Anfield.

The Reds are unlikely to let the 30-year-old leave in January, with Loris Karius on loan at Besiktas and youngsters Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher arguably not yet ready to make the step up.

However, given this report emerged from Mignolet’s native Belgium, it is more likely there is substance to these rumours.

Youngsters Called up for England Duty

Dominic Solanke‘s progress has been stunted this season, with the striker not making a single first-team appearance in 2018/19.

Despite this lack of game time, Solanke has been called up to the England U21s squad for their upcoming games against Italy (November 15) and Denmark (November 20).

Meanwhile, Adam Lewis has been rewarded for his excellent performances for Liverpool’s U23s with a call-up to the Three Lions U20s team to face Germany on November 19.

Curtis Jones will represent the U18s, who take on the Netherlands, Republic of Ireland and Belgium.

Liverpool Interested in Toulouse Youngster

Liverpool are eyeing up a move for 18-year-old Toulouse prodigy Jean-Clair Todibo, according to La Depeche.

The defender’s contract situation at the French club is currently up in the air, as they desperately try to tie down one of their most prized assets.

The Reds are among those sniffing around, with Todibo’s head at risked of being turned by interest from a European heavyweight.

He has impressed for Toulouse this season, making 10 Ligue 1 appearances and filling the void left by Issa Diop, following his move to West Ham.

Liverpool’s U18s will host either Cray Wanderers or Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Youth Cup, with the tie having to take place by December 15.

Last season Liverpool were knocked out at the fourth round stage, with then-U18s manager Steven Gerrard’s side defeated 3-2 by Arsenal at Anfield.

The Reds haven’t won the competition since 2007, when a team featuring Stephen Darby and Jay Spearing beat Man United 4-3 on penalties in the two-legged final.
